EU & Regulatory

Fenech & Fenech Advocates has recognised the need and the importance to assist both its Clients and other Departments of the firm, in relation to the various aspects of the European Union’s laws. Its team has a wealth of experience on the application of the EU regulatory framework, particularly so in the areas of competition and antitrust law, energy and environmental law, consumer protection, judicial remedies, employment and labour law, and the implementation of EU laws in Malta.

The EU & Regulatory Law Department regularly advises multinational companies, trade associations and governmental entities on various aspects of EU law in particular sectors.

A specialised team of lawyers works on a daily basis for the firm’s clients in these areas, providing advice on specific legal issues as well as monitoring reports on developments in various aspects of the Union’s regulatory framework. We tender advice on compliance; ensuring that business practices comply with the relevant regime; dealings with the competent authorities both at a national and European level; and representing claimants and defendants in proceedings before the national Courts, the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

This Department has built up a network of contacts within the European Union’s Institutions, particularly within the European Commission, Parliament and Council, which enables the firm to provide its Clients with timely assistance, and the most recent information can be obtained at any given time, however intricate the question.
