Tax Treaties with Qatar and Georgia come into force

The double taxation agreement between Malta and Georgia, signed on 23 October 2009, entered into force on 30 December 2009. This follows on the double taxation agreement between Malta and Qatar, signed on 26 August 2009, that entered into force on 9 December 2009. Both agreements generally apply from 1 January 2010. This brings the number of (largely OECD-based) double taxation agreements currently in force in Malta to 54.
